Frequently Asked Questions

  • Project timelines vary based on how they fit with other projects that have already been booked. You can typically expect any tier of project other than Heirloom to take about 5 business days after you’ve uploaded the raw video and photos you want to include, but turnaround could be as little as 2 days in some cases. Heirloom videos have variable timelines and pricing based on their scope and urgency, to be agreed upon with the client at the start of the project.

  • We use Audiio, a music service for filmmakers, to source original, high-quality music (no free corporate stock music or AI slop) that perfectly fits the vibe of your project. You’ll be prompted to let us know about your music preferences when you book the project, and we can always change the song during revisions if you aren’t thrilled with our selection.

    Each song is fully licensed, meaning you can share the video on any platform without fear of any legal issues, such as the infamous YouTube Copyright Strike.

  • Unfortunately, copyright law strictly prohibits us from including popular music by famous major recording artists in our projects, and the licensing process if both prohibitively time-consuming and prohibitively expensive. Even if you never shared your finished video publicly, Mainstay would still be exposed to severe legal risk if your project included music from these artists.

    That said, please let us know what songs you have in mind, or list some of your favorite artists or genres, when you book your project. We can track down a music clip that captures the same vibes and emotions you’re looking for, whether you’re aching for Coldplay’s wistful falsetto-and-acoustic sound, or itching to get down to one of the sick beats of Taylor Swift’s 1989 era.
